Life Stories

Femi as a Father

Femi loved his two children with all his heart, even until the last day, he pined for them. He was so proud of them and always worked so hard to provide for his family. Everything that he did, he had the boys and their future at the forefront of his mind. He would always fantasise about how he planned to re-do the boys rooms and decorate it so they would love it so much. He loved playing with his children, buying the nicest outfits to match his “swagger” and encouraging them to be the best that they could be at school.

Femi in the Family

Femi was known to refer to his nieces and nephews by their order of birth e.g. no.1, no.2 etc. He loved them so much and believed that they could do anything! He constantly encouraged them in their career paths and pushed them to believe that there was nothing that they could not achieve with God on their side.

He would constantly try to put his oldest niece into contact with people from his church to help her with her job pursuits and any opportunity he saw, he would circulate it and make sure she knew about it.

Femi constantly made an effort to maintain his family relationships from taking his first niece to the cinema on a weekly basis when she was younger, to participating in TikTok’s with his nieces and children, making them laugh and keeping tabs on them on Instagram.

He never missed a family celebration and made sure he came to every birthday gathering, Christmas celebrations, graduation celebrations and even family zoom catchups.

Femi as a Brother

Though Femi was the youngest, he was very assertive, forward-thinking and made each of us siblings feel special. Whenever we were with him, we always filled with so much joy. Femi was so respectful, and always referred to his sisters and brother with endearment.

Whenever he would see his siblings washing up or sweeping, he would humorously (but also seriously) question their children as to why they ever let their mum (“HIS SISTER”) lift a finger.

He constantly told his siblings how much he loved them every time he saw them and hugged them so tight. He truly treated them like queens. He was a special brother and will truly be missed.
